Portugal South Coast - Lisbon to Spanish Border

The 'new' Palace is situated nearer the river. All that remains of the previous Royal Palace is a large decorated arch supported by pillars with statues telling the story of the time it was built. The building has many uses today including quite a number of restaurants that ring the large central public area.
